So Person X was my roommate freshmen year of college and my suite-mate sophomore year of college. During my Junior Year of College I decided to transfer from Stony Brook University to University at Buffalo since my brother moved five minutes away from this campus and paying for dorm was becoming a hassel.
Person X and I..... how do I explain our relationship?! She is one of the most interesting people I know, one who would challenge my ways of thinking and enjoy numerous activities with me. I think our favorite activity was at best watching tons of movies together and talking about life, boys and eye-candies like any other pair of close girlfriends. We struggled through our pre-med curriculum together, enjoyed countless breakfast/ brunches together , shared our wardrobes like sisters would and laughed and giggled many nights away. But most importantly she became my voice of reason when my best friends or my own mind couldn't reach me, she made me smile when it seemed impossible, and she encouraged me to break my boundaries and expect nothing but the best from myself.
Today I'll be speaking to her after a year or so, and I guess I simply wanted to share my excitement of speaking to my ole pal again. I wonder why I wasn't the one to text her first and ask how everything is in order to catch up. Sometimes we get so stuck in our whirl pool of activities and to do list's that we forget to step back and take the time to rekindle old friendships, and relationships. I think this world and I need a sincere breather to appreciate everything and everyone around us. So I guess as your writer, and for the sake of many friendships withering away, I'd like to ask you to simply take five minutes of your time and close your eyes, think of someone who you care for, picture their love and memories in your mind, smile and then send them a small text, email or call just asking how everything is!
Au Revoir (Good bye In French, not that Im french or anything, it just sounds cool ;P)
